Metaphors In Motion

Creative & Experiential Dreamwork, Groups, Workshops & Retreats

“We cannot see the soul until we experience it, and we cannot understand the dream until we enter it.” ~ James Hillman

In the last century Swiss analyst Carl Gustav Jung and his colleague Marie-Louise von Franz were pioneers in developing the art of dreamwork. In working with thousands of dreams they confirmed Jung’s theory that each of us has a wise inner guide that speaks to us more profoundly than our ego self could ever imagine. Especially in these times, we need urgently to respond to the messages that this inner guide is trying to convey. Dreams brought to light can wake us up. The messages come to us in metaphor, the language of the soul.

Metaphors in Motion was conceived in 2003 by Rosemary Gosselin, psychoanalyst, and Andrée Ostiguy, spiritual director and reiki practitioner. They have created a unique way of working on dreams in a group that involves participation of body, mind and spirit. They provide a creative and dynamic environment for women and men to immerse in a safe exploration of their dreams through discussion and the expressive arts. The work centers on helping people to contact their inner guide and better live their reality. Like midwives, we all help each other to birth the unconscious into consciousness. While dreams are deeply personal, we also explore cultural implications.

Their model of dreamwork was well received by the International Association for the Study of Dreams in 2008. Their work continues to evolve
with Andrée now offering courses and groups in Moncton, New Brunswick and Rosemary in the Georgian Bay area, Ontario.

Andrée and Rosemary continue to collaborate in offering retreats locally, in Canada, and internationally. These weekends nurture the bodysoul
through nature, dreams, story, myth, movement and the arts.
